Start 2022 off right by treating yourself to nutrient-dense, vegan foods– both your body and the planet will thank you!

Have some friends or family members join you, and stock your fridge and cupboards with delicious vegetables, fruits, grains, and legumes. It’s time for plantbased January! Read below to learn 4 tips on how you can set out and stick to a Plantbased January.

Speaking of plantbased… Have you tried The Pizza Plant? Our pizzas are Organic, scratch-made, fully plantbased, and oh-so-good! Both of our signature pizzas are delicious and better for both you and the environment, and you can load up your freezer with our pre-made pizzas for your plantbased re-set. For a pizza loaded with vegan pepperoni, go for our Everything But The Hog plantbased pizza. To try some delectable vegan sausage, grab our Salsiccia Italiano plantbased pizza. Your Plantbased January will undoubtedly be enjoyable (and delicious!) with The Pizza Plant.

Here are 4 tips on how you can partake in a Plantbased January:

  1. Build a plantbased community

The best way to stick to a New Year’s resolution is to have accountability buddies. Find a friend or family member (or a few!) who are looking to try out a plantbased diet. Having a couple people on your team will make sticking to the diet easier and more enjoyable. You could even have them over to cook yummy vegan dinners or meet them out at vegan restaurants and cafes! Another way to build your community of vegans and to feel inspired in the kitchen is to join plantbased Facebook groups. There are thousands of virtual groups out there, where you can make new vegan pals, grow your knowledge about the vegan lifestyle, and find some delicious plantbased recipes. Building a network of others who live a vegan lifestyle is important to help maintain motivation along your plantbased journey… And who knows, you may make some great, vegan friends who inspire you to keep up the plantbased diet well past January!

  1. Meal prep or have pre-made foods ready to eat

When starting any new diet, it can be overwhelming to cook unfamiliar dishes for every meal or even to cook much at all. One great way to ensure that you are consistent with your plantbased diet and never feel too overwhelmed is to meal prep. Choose a day in your week that’s not too busy, and make bulk amounts of a few tasty, plantbased meals that can be enjoyed all week long. Check out this list of plantbased dishes that are easy to make in bulk amounts and will last all week in your fridge. You can also purchase pre-made vegan foods that can be stored in your freezer, such as The Pizza Plant. Have a few frozen, plantbased pizzas ready to be eaten throughout the week, so that you’re able to stick to your vegan diet when life gets busy. Head to your local grocery store or shop online for The Pizza Plant to have delicious, plantbased pizza delivered straight to your door for Plantbased January.

  1. Get some vegan cookbooks and try out new recipes

Go crazy in the kitchen! There are a plethora of amazing, plantbased recipes out there, and you can use your Plantbased January as an opportunity to try some out. Head to Google or Pinterest to find vegan recipes of any cuisine you could imagine, or if you’re feeling old fashioned, purchase a vegan cookbook to keep on your kitchen counter for plantbased inspiration. Head to our blog for some suggestions on the best vegan cookbooks, as well as some novels about living a vegan lifestyle. Don’t be afraid to try new things in Plantbased January! Whipping up some new recipes will keep your plantbased month exciting, and you may even discover your new favorite dishes.

  1. Make your current favorite foods vegan

Although trying new recipes occasionally will be fun, you can also opt to turn your current favorite foods vegan. Many people are afraid to try out a plantbased diet, as they think it will require them to cut out their favorite dishes entirely. But this is not the case! In our modern world, where being plantbased is more normalized than ever, there are tons of vegan alternatives to animal-derived foods on the market. On Google alone, you can find “veganified” recipes for almost any meal you can think of. Seriously– search for vegan mac n cheese, vegan burgers, vegan pizza, even vegan bacon! You’ll find tons of recipes to make vegan versions of these foods yourself, as well as where to buy pre-made, plantbased alternatives. For example, if one of your favorite meals is pizza, you can swap out the traditional cheese and meat toppings for a fully pre-made, vegan pizza from The Pizza Plant. There’s no need to give up pizza, one of the best foods in the world, when going plantbased! Head to your local grocery store or shop online today for The Pizza Plant.
