That’s right – there are actually tons of actors out there who follow a fully plantbased diet, and today we’re going to tell you about 10 of them. Whether you follow a vegan diet yourself, are ready to be inspired by these vegan celebrities, or are simply looking for some fun facts for your Oscar’s watch party, read on! The vegan stories of these 10 well-known actors are not ones you’ll want to miss.

Here are 10 fully vegan movie stars that you can look out for at the upcoming Oscar awards:
-
Rainn Wilson
Despite what his character on “The Office” may have led you to believe, Rainn Wilson stays far away from meat! In fact, he’s been vegan ever since rescuing two pigs, and says he made the decision once he realized he loved them far more than he loves bacon (and all other animal-derived products for that matter).
-
Natalie Portman
Unlike many of the stars on this list, Natalie Portman didn’t wait until adulthood to make the switch to veganism. In fact, she’s been vegan since she was 9 years old after reading the book Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer.
-
Joaquin Phoenix
Thought 9 years old was an early age to make the vegan switch? Try 3! Joaquin Phoenix has been a tried-and-true vegan since he was a toddler, and has been an animal-rights activist throughout Hollywood and beyond.
-
Woody Harrelson
It’s one thing to be vegan yourself, but it’s another to inspire others to do the same. Woody Harrelson has been 100% vegan for over 30 years, and has paved the way for other celebrities, like Sadie Sink from Stranger Things, to join him on his plantbased journey.
-
Pamela Anderson
Bet you didn’t know this Baywatch star stays away from meat and dairy! Pamela Anderson has been a vegetarian since she was a child and a vegan for more than 30 years. Furthermore, she’s been very vocal about being an activist for animals and her love for the vegan diet.
-
Alan Cummings
This X-Men and James Bond actor has quite the vegan story. In 2008, Alan Cummings was sworn in as an official citizen of the U.S. (originally from Scotland). Ever since, he has maintained a vegan diet, and even won the PETA Humanitarian Award in 2017 for speaking out against animal cruelty and promoting the vegan lifestyle.
-
Benedict Cumberbatch
Unlike many other plantbased celebrities, Benedict Cumberbatch has kept his vegan diet almost entirely a secret. The press only found out about it after a waiter from a restaurant he dined at spilled the beans. We’re not entirely sure why he has kept his diet under wraps – but regardless, he’s 100% a vegan, which we’re certainly happy to hear!
-
Tabitha Brown
If you know us, you know we’re huge fans of actor and plantbased advocate, Tabitha Brown. She decided to go vegan after struggling with her health for a year. Her daughter convinced her to watch a vegan documentary and she never looked back. She says that eating strictly wholesome vegan foods (including The Pizza Plant!) completely transformed her health and outlook on life.
-
Peter Dinklage
This Game of Thrones Star has been an animal advocate for quite some time. He has been a vegetarian since the age of 16 and a full vegan since 2014. He also publicly supports Farm Sanctuary and was the spokesperson for their Walk for Farm Animals.
-
James Cameron
So, he’s not technically an actor, but will absolutely be making an appearance at this year’s Oscar Awards! World-famous director James Cameron, most recently known for his direction of Avatar: The Way of Water, has been a vegan since 2012. He recently referred to his diet as “futurevore,” as he believes that veganism is the diet of the future.
