A Great Pizza Starts With a Great Organic Dough

A Great Pizza Starts With a Great Organic Dough

What makes a great pizza a great pizza? Is it the tasty sauce and cheese? Or the other delicious toppings, such as veggies, meats, or vegan meats? What about the amount of nutrients and quality ingredients that make up the pizza?

When it comes to making a great pizza, it’s important to start from scratch. The first step in making a fantastic pizza is creating the perfect dough. At The Pizza Plant, we’re committed to making each of our ingredients as high quality as they are flavorful. That’s why we start off each of our scratch-made pizzas with Organic pizza dough. But, what exactly does an “Organic” label mean, why is it so important that ingredients are Organic, and how can you ensure that your pizza dough is Organic?

Let’s talk Organic pizza dough! If you’re looking for a pizza that’s USDA Certified Organic, plantbased, and oh-so-delicious, head to your local grocery store or shop online for The Pizza Plant plantbased pizzas. Our pizzas are scratch-made with quality, Organic ingredients, making them better for both you and the planet.

What’s the Difference Between Organic and Inorganic Pizza Dough?

When you read labels on foods and beverages, you may notice that some are deemed to be Organic while others aren’t. Simply put, organic means that a food has been made without chemicals, pesticides, or other artificial agents. The U.S. Department of Agriculture regulates which foods can be labeled as Organic, and has varying regulations for different types of foods (i.e., produce, meat, multi-ingredient foods, etc.). Organic foods are better for us because they are more nutrient rich and don’t contain harmful chemicals and GMOs that can cause damage to our bodies. Organic foods are also better for the environment, as organic farming prevents damage caused by pesticides and chemical fertilizers to local ecosystems.

So, an Organic pizza dough is composed of primarily or entirely Organic ingredients, while an inorganic one isn’t. Consuming an Organic pizza dough versus an inorganic one means that you’re putting more nutrient-dense and cleaner foods into your body.

How Do I Ensure that My Pizza Dough is Organic When Buying or Making Pizzas?

If you’re shopping for a pre-made pizza dough, be sure to check the label. For a food to be labeled as Organic, it must first be approved by the USDA. Any foods that are labeled with a “USDA Organic” logo must contain at least 95% organically produced ingredients. Foods labeled as, “made with organic ingredients,” must contain at least 70% Organic ingredients. If you’re looking to make an Organic pizza dough from scratch, just be sure to pick up ingredients that are labeled as USDA Organic.

The Pizza Plant is USDA Certified Organic, meaning that our ingredients, including those in our pizza dough, are Organic, healthy, and better for you and the environment. We use Organic 00 Flour, which is a finely-ground, gold-standard flour. When combined with our other ingredients, that include Organic safflower oil, Organic active dry yeast, and Organic brown sugar, the result is a crispy and delicious thin crust that acts as the perfect base for the rest of our tasty toppings. You can check out a full list of our pizza ingredients here.

Our Organic pizza dough is certainly worth tasting, and you can try it with both of our signature, plantbased pizzas.
